I launched this site and started this blog in the immediate aftermath of becoming unemployed in 2023. Building a website for a supposed digital consulting business and learning a new CMS in the process was useful as resume filler while I tried to either find or create a role for myself.
Then I was lucky enough to actually find a succession of contract roles rewarding enough that I didn’t really need to do this and challenging enough that I didn’t really have the time. I now find myself departing the most recent of these roles, into circumstances all of us find challenging.
I am not certain what I am going to be doing with this site, this blog, or the concept of offering consulting services as a boutique digital agency. I’m having to rethink a number of core assumptions, but I’m hardly alone in that. Anyone in the business of developing, deploying, or refining digital experiences is currently having to rethink just about everything.
Over upcoming weeks, I will be relaunching this website and reintroducing myself. Feel free at any time to turn this monologue into a dialogue. The value of dialogue is a core assumption that isn’t going anywhere.
